WET HORIZONS aims to provide the flying start to enhanced large scale restoration of Europe’s wetlands. In addition to gathering data and filling in knowledge gaps about wetlands, the project aims to develop tools and guidelines to inform policy and decision makers about the state of Europe’s wetlands and the best approaches for restoration of wetlands in different regions. A key factor of the project is its holistic approach which brings together experts from wet and peatland research, greenhouse gas research, biomodelers, policy analysts, and communicators. The project will also feature a citizen science component.
ESCI's role in the project:
ESCI is leading the project communication activities, including media outreach, information campaigns, and raising awareness about the project, its research, and its outcomes.It is also supporting citizen science activities within the project.
